Visit to Innovative School at Anaikkatti
We visited Vidyavanam at Anaikatti as part of our Innovative School Visit this year. This school caters to the educational needs of Irulars children up to 10th std. Interdisciplinary Approach is followed here. The teaching methodology is not book based but project based and team based learning. Most of the staff stay in the school campus and work as team with the support of the locals to develop teaching content.
The uniforms, snacks, midday meal and stationary articles are freely provided to the students.Field visits, group projects, celebration of cultural festivals, sports day, daily assembly, lab experiments, farming, science and art exhibitions, work shop by experts in the field are part of their curricular activities and co - curricular activities.
The Students have access to the well furnished library at any time.

Awareness programme on Violence against women
There was an awareness programme organised at All Souls church for the students of Bishop Appasamy college of Arts & Science and Bishop Appasamy College of teacher education on violence against women and cyber crimes. During this gathering we paid homage to the 7 yr old Rithanyeswari a rape victim who was raped & murdered recently in Coimbatore. Chief Guest was the CSI Bishop of Coimbatore Rt. Rev. Mr.Timothy Raveendren. Many spokespersons spoke about Cyber crimes and safety precautions to be online, specially Mr.Felix from Chennai. Towards the end of the programme we took a pledge of being responsible users of media.
